Maleen studied mathematics in Darmstadt and Coimbra, Portugal. She wrote her bachelor’s thesis in algebra and her master’s thesis in stochastics. In April 2016, she joined our group.
Within the LOEWE project CompuGene she studied projection and stochastic filtering approaches to include so called context effects on a synthetic genetic network in an effective model.
She also worked with experimental data generated in the group’s wet lab, in particular performing Bayesian parameter inference. Currently, she is exploring approximations of filtering distributions like the entropic matching ansatz.
